Paton-Churdan senior Megan Carey was the only student in the county nominated for the All-State Speech Festival for individual events. The Festival was held last Monday on the University of Northern Iowa campus in Cedar Falls.
Carey performed her prose piece, “I’ll Fix Anthony.” This was her second All-State nomination; she was nominated as a junior, also performing in the prose category.
Stephanie Pace is the speech coach at Paton-Churdan.
The All-State Speech Festival is held under the auspices of the Iowa High School Speech Association.
